When the failure of charger and electric vehicle is excluded, under normal circumstances, the reason why the electric vehicle can't charge has following reasons:the charging interface and the communication protocol.
1. For the charging interface, there are three major charging interfece standards from United States, Europe, and China, each car manufacturer has also differentiated the charging interface in the configuration based oits own technical route, such as the European Combo interface, Japan CHAdeMO interface, and Tesla interface, the CCS interface used by some American and German systems, and China GB / T20234 interface, which means that currently foreign cars cannot connect with domestic charging pile from the hardware interface. For example, tesla can only build its own charging station to ensure that the model S is marketing in China.
2. In communication protocols, the difference of charging protocols is the main reason. To explain this problem, you need to understand the basic principles and processes of AC charging pile and DC charging pile.
(1) The process of AC charging is that AC power is transmitted through the charging pile-on-board charger-power battery. That is, the AC charging pile is a power. It is equal to a larger socket, which doesn't have the connection between the charging pile and the vehicle communication protocol, so if it is AC charging, theoretically all models can be charged if the interface matches.
(2) The process of DC charging is simply that DC power is transmitted through the charging pile-power battery, the on-board charger is not needed. This requires the charging pile to communicate with the vehicle control device or battery management system (BMS).
For charging facility operators, only after electric vehicles passing the vehicle certification and charging on the DC pile, the electric vehicle's status, battery status, and charging pile status can be intelligently monitored to play its role in operation and maintenance. Therefore, the user needs to perform network authentication on the vehicle information before charging, so that the charging device can normally identify the user's vehicle.
For users, only when their own car is registered in the operator's charging service network, they can charge normally.
